Email is an electronic method of exchanging messages that lets you send and receive letters over the Internet. Every user has a unique email address (e.g. name@domain.com) that identifies their mailbox.

Our hosting plans let you create an unlimited number of mailboxes using your own domain.

Email uses several protocols:

• SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) – used for sending messages
• POP3 (Post Office Protocol) – downloads messages from the server to your device (removes them from the server by default)
• IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) – synchronises messages between devices, keeping them on the server

You can set up your email in any email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Gmail, mobile apps).

If you have trouble sending messages, check:

1. That the SMTP server is set to xpoczta.hb.pl
2. That the "Outgoing server requires authentication" option is enabled
3. That your internet provider is not blocking port 25 (try port 587)
4. That your login and password are entered correctly

URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the address of a website, e.g. https://hostedby.pl

HTTP is the protocol for transferring web pages. HTTPS is its secure version with SSL encryption – every modern website should use it.

To transfer a domain to us, you need an authinfo code (or EPP code) – a unique transfer password available from your current registrar.

The transfer process:

1. Get the authinfo code from your current registrar
2. Make sure the domain is unlocked for transfer
3. Order the transfer in the client panel or email us at pomoc@hb.pl
4. Confirm the transfer in the email sent to the admin contact
5. Wait for the process to complete. For .pl and .eu domains it happens almost instantly, while for global domains such as .com we have to wait 5 days.

Domains are registered for a fixed period – usually 1 year. An active domain can be renewed at any time.

Grace period – after a domain expires, it enters a grace period (for .pl this is a 30-day suspension). During this time the domain does not work, but it can still be renewed.

After the grace period the domain is released and anyone can register it – including your competitors.

Suspension is a 30-day period after a .pl domain expires, during which:

• The website and email do not work
• The domain can still be renewed
• It cannot be transferred to another registrar
• The renewal cost is higher than a standard renewal

After 30 days of suspension the domain is deleted and anyone can register it.

DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) is a set of DNS security extensions that protects against "cache poisoning" attacks.

With DNSSEC, users can be sure they have reached the genuine website and not a fake one served by attackers.

We offer DNSSEC for .pl domains and many other extensions.
